Job Description

Material Handler:

 This position helps supply World Class products by controlling safe movement of materials throughout the warehouse to production and assembly. 

It also includes ensuring that materials are marked and located in the designated areas, the accurate pulling and staging of materials, and processing the paperwork and data entry in a timely and

accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Receive and unload incoming materials.

  • Maintain traceability of materials.  Review, count tags, and move materials to designated areas.

  • Reorganize designated areas as needed or warranted. Prepare materials for production as requested.     

  • Perform cycle counts and answer inquiries regarding materials. 

  • Act according to the company’s values & guiding principles and ISO procedures while performing duties effectively in a self-sufficient, motivated, timely manner.

  • Support the Receiving Clerk and Receiving Inspection personnel when necessary.

  • Perform/delegate minor maintenance of material handling equipment delegated to that area.

  • Conduct physical and cycle inventory counts as necessary along with the annual inventory count to confirm the amounts as directed by the Inventory Supervisor, Purchasing, or Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: 

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Math Ability: 

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability: 

  • Able to apply commons sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a dew concrete variables in standardized situations.

Language Skills:

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Must also be able to write short correspondences.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Bilingual ability is a plus

Computer Skills:

  • Ability to operate e-mail
  • Knowledge of inventory

Certificates/Licenses Required:

  • Forklift certified  

$15.00-$17.00/hr DOE

1st shift, 6am-230pm (mon-Fri)
